My name is Gianne (JEE-ann). I am a high school Biology teacher living in San Francisco that loves to bring life into the classroom! I've always had a menagerie of plants and animals for as long as I can remember. Before becoming a teacher, I received my Masters in Biomedical Sciences studying host immune interactions with Mycobacterium tuberculosis at the University of California, San Francisco.
I am passionate about science, especially science education. It is because of my love of science that I got into keeping Nepenthes and breeding Bettas. I am grateful that I get to share my passion for living things with my students every day! I also enjoy backpacking, cooking, yoga, weightlifting, cycling, and reading.
