My name is Gianne (JEE-ann). I am a high school Biology teacher in San Francisco that loves to bring life into the classroom! Before becoming a teacher, I received my Masters in Biomedical Sciences studying host immune interactions in Mycobacterium tuberculosis at the University of California, San Francisco.
I am most passionate about science education. It is because of my love of science that I got into keeping Nepenthes and breeding Bettas. Working with high school students is immensely gratifying, but also very time consuming, which is why I have been focusing more on plants recently - they definitely don't require as much time doing water changes every week!
