Nepenthes jamban

This adorable highland is literally named after the Indonesian word for "toilet"!

How CUTE is this little pitcher!

One of these is not like the other! Accidentally mislabeled as lingulata!
I had the absolute joy of traveling out to one of Florae Collaborative's Open Houses in May 2022. While I was there, I met one of my childhood Nepenthes heroes Rob Cantley, as well as many fantastic individuals in the carnivorous plant community! It was well worth the trip. One of my favorite parts was combing through the for sale plants by hand and finding this jewel - a little jamban hiding in one of the flats of lingulata!

This intriguing plant has many interesting characteristics that are well described in this Wikipedia article. I was a little nervous taking this one home after my failed attempt at growing jacquelineae on my windowsill, but my grow tent seems to be meeting the needs of my highland plants very well. It appears to be acclimating well to the new conditions!
Current Growing Conditions:
Intermediate/Highland Grow Tent

Light: Mars Hydro TSL 2000 LED Grow Light
Humidity: ~95-100% constant (MistKing set to 30s every 2 hrs)
Temperature: ~60F night and 80F day
Water: Moist but not wet
Potting Mix: 50% long fibered sphagnum moss 50% perlite

Fertilizer: MaxSea (1/4 tsp/gallon) every other week into pitchers and lightly spray leaves
Additional Notes: Settling in well! Crossing fingers it continues to do so!
