Nepenthes maxima "Wavy Leaf" BE-3786

One of the most unique Nepenthes out there, this clone of Nepenthes maxima has insanely wavy dark purple leaves and striking lime green pitchers!

Leaves are already dark purple even at this young age! September 2020

Young plants take a while to display adult pitcher characteristics! September 2020
From Borneo Exotics: "First introduced in July 2017. This is a carefully selected clone of the wavy-leaf form of the species from Sulawesi. A most distinctive plant!"
I obtained my Nepenthes maxima "Wavy Leaf" as a very small plant from Carnivero in June 2020. After an initial acclimation period, the plant has exploded in growth, putting out lots of new leaves and pitchers in my intermediate conditions! A few of the recent pitchers have expressed stripes on the peristomes, but honestly I think I prefer the solid lime green pitchers contrasting against wavy maroon leaves. I haven't observed any wavy margins on the leaves yet, but mine is still quite young. We will see what happens!
Update November 2020

Growing fast! Love the live sphagnum top dressing. Every leaf and pitcher is getting larger! November 2020

Interesting! I think I filled the pitcher too high with too concentrated MaxSea - notice the waxy zone zone is burned! Interestingly, only one other Nepenthes burned the same way

Ooo that new leaf is RED!

New pitcher has stripes! I was not expecting that! Still smooth leaf margins though...
