Nepenthes robcantleyi x (sibuyanensis x ventricosa), BE-3748

A future monster in the making! A big hardy Nepenthes with lovely red pitchers!
Picture
Cute woody little pitchers with reduced wings! October 2020

The large leaves definitely have a heavy truncata incfluence on them, but the texture is more smooth like that of a ventricosa. Also a nice leaf jump! October 2020
From Borneo Exotics: "First introduced in Jan 2017. The female parent is a giant N. robcantleyi, which although one of the original 6 plants we raised from seeds, has no cultivar name. The male parent is N. sibuyanensis x ventricosa selected as clone 9 from those sold under BE-3281. Random assortment from many clones out of microprop."
I purchased this hybrid from PetFlyTrap.com in August 2020, my first time purchasing a medium hanging plant from this company. Wow it was larger than I expected! I loved being able to hang it from my curtain rod straight away without have to repot it. It arrived in relatively good condition, however it was clear that it experienced some severe shock at some point in the past (a few very small, stressed out older leaves). The mature characteristics are not yet visible, but a recent leaf jump tells me it won't be long before this hybrid lives up to its monstrous sibuyanensis and robcantleyi ancestry! Curious to see how much individual variation there is within this seedset!
Update December 2020

FINALLY got a first pitcher on this Nepenthes! Seems to be fully acclimated and recovered from whatever shock it experienced. The pitchers are pleasingly smooth and tubby. The plant has developed much thicker leaves and has an almost woody texture to the pitchers. Seems to really enjoy basking in the hot sun! Already has a second pitcher developing!
Update January 2021

Two new pitchers in quick succession! I have feeling that once this monster gets rolling, it will be difficult to stop! Pitchers are thick and have almost a woody texture. Beautiful in profile when hanging in the windowsill!
