Nepenthes Titan's Treason
(truncata x tentaculata "speckled")

Looking forward to WEIRD slanted mouths on this one!
Picture
First pitcher with me! LOTS of long hairs all over the lid, very tentaculata-like! October 2020
I'm SO excited for this particular hybrid! The only image I could find of an adult truncata x tentaculata hybrid was at RedLeaf Exotics, which I think was originally from Exotica Plants. The super tall thin pitcher combined with the strange slanted pitcher opening and flared peristome look SO awesome to me! I think the cross by Predatory Plants will be even better and have greater vigor and more red coloration!

From Predatory Plants: "We've crossed our classic Nepenthes truncata "Titan" with a very odd, speckled N. tentaculata that we suspect may be an introgressed hybrid with N. glabrata. In any case, we've got a lot of this hybrid on the way, and the small plants are just starting to color up. Great time to get the first few released!"
I'm SO excited for this particular hybrid! I'm convinced that anything crossed with Predatory Plants' "Titan" is amazing. This particular plant seems to impart incredible size and vigor to whatever the pollen parent brings. My seedling is already showing characteristics of both parents at a very young age - tiny pitchers already have a vertically slanted mouth, speckles, and lovely truncate leaves. Can't wait to watch this grow, and with Titan as a parent, I won't have to wait long!
Update December 2020

*Sigh* Accidents happen and they sure are annoying!
I accidentally broke off one of the new pitcher buds while planting the surface with live sphagnum. Gah! So frustrating but thankfully this little plant should recover from the loss very quickly. Although it is still the size of a postage stamp, it is growing very fast and the pitchers are lovely and hairy.

Grow grow grow! Still so tiny and hairy!
For some reason this Nepenthes stalled in growth for a while. I'm wondering if it is not happy with the new heat mat. I might move it to a cooler set up if it does not pick up in the next month or so.
Current Growing Conditions: Warm Intermediate Terrarium
Light: ~170 PPFD or 9730 Lux under 4000K LED shoplights

Water: Moist but not wet
Potting Mix: 50% long fibered sphagnum moss 50% perlite
