Nepenthes vogelii BE-3256

A fantastic hardy species with unique funnel-shaped uppers!

Very good size on arrival! February 2021

Even the lower pitchers have a unique shape - very elongated and covered in a lovely high contrast pattern! February 2021
From Carnivero: "This stunning intermediate species comes from the island of Borneo.  The lower pitchers are handsome and elongated with deep purple markings.  However, its real forte are the uppers which are funnel shaped with an iridescent striping alternating in shiny purple and lime or cream coloration.  It’s one of our favorites and is a vigorous grower. We’ve grown it in our lowland, intermediate and highland greenhouse with success."

First pitcher within a month! Very quick acclimation! February 2021
I received mine has a well-established medium-sized plant from a fellow hobbyist, who originally purchased it from Carnivero last year. Right off the bat this species displayed incredible vigor and did not skip a beat despite immediate repotting upon arrival. It didn't even lose its exisiting pitcher and formed a brand new pitcher during acclimation! Within a month this plant was un-bagged in the main terrarium and already has two more pitchers on the way. Highly recommended for intermediate growing setups!

One reason this species may do so well in household terraria is that it is found between 1000-1500m in the wild. I find that species found around this altitude are very hardy and vigorous in my intermediate conditions.
Current Growing Conditions: Warm Intermediate Terrarium
Light: ~170 PPFD or 9730 Lux under 4000K LED shoplights
Humidity: ~90% night and 67% day
Temperature: ~68F night and 85F day
Water: Moist but not wet
Potting Mix: 50% long fibered sphagnum 50% perlite

Fertilizer: MaxSea (1/4 tsp/gallon) every other week into pitchers
Additional Notes: Very vigorous, held on to old pitchers and even produced new pitchers during acclimation!
